Our Story
A women-led organisation born from compassion, service, and the desire to help elderly women prepare for Hajj with dignity and support.
Born from a shared calling to make Hajj possible.
Rih La Tul Umr was born from a shared calling among six women who witnessed the emotional pain experienced by elderly women who dreamt of performing Hajj but could not afford to go.
The organisation was established to create a platform of support — not only by assisting with costs, but also by providing education, preparation, resources, and guidance.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the organisation’s early efforts, Rih La Tul Umr successfully sent its first group of pilgrims in 2022 and has continued to grow its impact every year since.
At its heart, the organisation exists to transform sincere intention into supported, dignified preparation for Hajj.

Beneficiaries are selected through a formal application process, with priority given to women from impoverished communities and those involved in community upliftment.

How It All Began
In 2019, after witnessing the barriers women faced in completing their pilgrimage, Rihlatul Umr was officially registered as a non-profit organization. From its inception, the initiative has operated entirely through volunteers guided by compassion, faith, and a shared commitment to helping women realize their dreams of Hajj. The founding team recognized that while spiritual readiness is vital, financial and logistical challenges often prevent deserving women from embarking on this sacred journey — and they set out to change that.
